How we keep fakes out

Fake perfume is the worst outcome of buying second hand, and the most common complaint about other marketplaces. We cannot promise that no bad bottle ever slips through, so we stack checks instead.

Five layers of checks

Batch codes on every listing

Sellers type the code from the bottle and the box. You can look it up on a decoder such as CheckFresh to see the production date. A code tells you when a bottle was made; it does not prove the bottle is genuine on its own, so read it with the photos.

Required photos

Front, back label, bottom code, box code and the fill line. Missing angles are a reason to ask before you buy.

FoS Verified

Choose FoS Verified at checkout and the seller ships to our hub first. We compare the bottle with the listing, check codes, cellophane, atomizer, juice color and fill level, then seal it and send it on. If it fails, the order is cancelled and refunded.

A 72-hour smell test

After delivery you have 72 hours to report a bottle that is fake, diluted, the wrong fill or not as described. Payouts are held until that window closes.

Seller accountability

Sellers above $200 or five active listings verify their ID. A confirmed fake earns a strike, and two strikes end a seller account.

Signs a bottle may be fake

  • Batch code on the bottle and box do not match, or there is no code at all.
  • Cellophane that is loose, bubbly or glued at the seams.
  • A cap that does not click firmly, or a sprayer tube that is thick and cloudy.
  • Juice color that is noticeably different from photos of the same perfume.
  • Fonts, spacing or accents on the label that differ from the brand's own.
  • A price far below every other listing for a sealed bottle.
